Woman, three children, two others die in Jos inferno

Six persons died when a storey building was engulfed in fire in Jos in the early hours of Saturday.

The fire was said to have started at about 2am shortly after power supply was restored to the area following an outage.

The victims – a woman, her three children, who are between the ages of one and six years; sister and maid – were believed to have been suffocated by the smoke of the inferno while they were fast asleep.

Residents of the area believed that the fire might have started from an electric surge and likely to have been aided by a gas cylinder, which exploded after the fire started.

 More on it coming............
