I thank you all for turning out en-masse for the March 28 General Elections. I promised the country free and fair elections. I have kept my word. I have also expanded the space for Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. That is one legacy I will like to see endure. The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 election, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for voting him and his party to steer the ship of state for the next four years. Buhari said this in an interim message of thanks and gratitude to Nigerians in Abuja on Tuesday. This was contained in a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Malam Garba Shehu. In the message, Buhari thanked Nigerians “for choosing him and his party over and above the PDP and their candidate, the incumbent President, Dr Jonathan Goodluck.” The APC statement said it “Declared victory after Dr. Jonathan called General Buhari at 5.15pm to make a concession and congratulate the winner. Dr Sanusi Oyebode, a former Lecturer in Faculty of Arts, Ekiti State University and front line APC leader in Ikere Ekiti. He was 58 years old.
