Sanusi visits el-Rufai, says Kaduna chose competent leader

Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, said on Saturday in Kaduna that for electing a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, the people of the state had chosen a competent leader.

Sanusi led the Kano Emirate Council to congratulate el-Rufai, who he described as “competent and capable” on his victory at the April 11 governorship election in the state.

El-Rufai defeated incumbent governor Mulkhtar Yero at the poll.

The Governor-elect’s spokesman, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, quoted the Emir in a statement to have commended the people of the state in their choice of el-Rufai, whom he said would take the state to the next level in terms of development.

Sanusi said the people of Kaduna had elected  a competent and capable governor who would  provide sound leadership to the state.
