Sanusi visits el-Rufai, says Kaduna chose competent leader
Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and Emir of Kano,
Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, said on Saturday in Kaduna that for electing
a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Nasir
el-Rufai, the people of the state had chosen a competent leader.
Sanusi led the Kano Emirate Council to congratulate el-Rufai, who he described as “competent and capable” on his victory at the April 11 governorship election in the state.
El-Rufai defeated incumbent governor Mulkhtar Yero at the poll.
The Governor-elect’s spokesman, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, quoted the Emir in a statement to have commended the people of the state in their choice of el-Rufai, whom he said would take the state to the next level in terms of development.
Sanusi said the people of Kaduna had elected a competent and capable governor who would provide sound leadership to the state.
