Globacom nears 30m subscriber base
Telecommunications
company, Globacom, has said that almost 30 million subscribers across Nigeria
are now on its network. National Sales Coordinator of Globacom for North West
Operations, Samuel Edoho disclosed last weekend in Abuja at an award ceremony
where the company was recognized as the network provider of the year 2014 by
the Independent Newspaper Limited.
He said the company achieved the feat due to the
company’s consistent investment and deployment of innovative and customer
oriented services for its teaming subscribers. Edoho said the
company, with close to 30 million subscribers in its network, plans to soar
towards its aspiration of building Africa’s biggest and best telecommunications
network in the continent.
With this latest record, Globacom still retains
its number two spot, with MTN Nigeria at number one. As at the last review, MTN
Nigeria stood at 59,893,093 subscriber base, Globacom – 28,219,089; Airtel
Nigeria – 27,556,544; Etisalat Nigeria stood at 21,103,745 while Mtel came last
with 258,520 subscriber base.
“We are still very aggressive, we will keep the
spirit high and assure Nigerians who have no confidence in the market of our
determination to offer them best experience ever across all network.
“For us, this is a testimony to the innovation
the company has brought and we will want to dedicate this award to our teaming
subscribers because it is because of that we can be recognized and we will like
to let our subscribers know that the network that brought per second billing is
still in the fore front of bringing new things.
“As we speak now, we have got 200 per cent
incentives for all subscribers in our network. Our capacity is immense. With
Glo 1, we have the potential to deliver fast internet service,” said Edoho.
On poor quality of service, Edoho said, “we are
doing our best to meet the needs of our teaming subscribers. If we are not
doing well, we will not have customers, our customers have stood by us and what
Daily Independence are doing today is a testimony to the fact that Globacom is
delivering quality service on day to day basis. “We hope to bring more
innovations on board, give better services and make everything better. There
are a lot of challenges but we are coping.”
