Adamu Mu’azu today, May 20, 2015, resigned his position as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

His resignation has been confirmed by PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Abdullahi Jalo and is expected to take effect immediately.

Here are three reasons why Mu’azu resigned:

  1. He was advised to do so by close friends and associates who he met with on Tuesday, May 19.

  2. Mu’azu told PDP Deputy National Chairman, Uche Secondus that it had become imperative for him to resign due to the abysmal performance of the party in the 2015 general elections.

  3. The former Chairman also told Secondus that he had to resign so that peace could reign in the PDP.
